Strong Disciplines for Industrial Challenges
We are looking back at a successful symposium. The interest in TNO-ESI was clearly shown by the high number of participants that actively participated in the different sessions and discussions.
The programme opened with a very inspiring, and very well received, keynote speech of professor Jan Madsen of the Technical University of Denmark on programming future embedded systems.
The track presentations and information market were made possible with contributions of our network partners from industry and academia.
In the two workshops it was up to the participants themselves. They worked with 'real-life' cases from their own professional environment.
The very interesting closing keynote speech of Jan Mengelers, chair of the TNO Board of Management, was about getting the balance right in applied and fundamental research.
The event was evaluated well with a high overall score of 4 out of 5 (about 40% questionnaire response). In general, most of the comments expressed were positive.
