Knowledge sharing - SASG
System Architecture Study Group
Introduction
The System Architecture Study Group (SASG), initially a Philips initiative, is an active group of
over 160 system architects. Members exchange their experiences during regular meetings on system / software architecture.
Goal
The SASG goal is to disseminate system / software architecture knowledge and best practices between the members, particularly for embedded systems and software or technology intensive systems, and to provide a platform for individual contacts between the members.
Activities
Three times a year SASG meetings (one full day, normally from 9:30 to 17:00) are organized, sometimes in collaboration with other parties. These meetings are highly interactive, in such a way that is called upon everyone's experience / education etc.
Members act as local hosts, so the meetings are organized at various locations, mostly in the southern part of the Netherlands, because most of the SASG members are employed there.
The topic of the meeting will be mailed to members roughly 1 month before the meeting. After this mailing the members can apply for attending the meeting. To ensure that the meetings can be highly interactive, the maximum number of attendees per meeting is set to ca. 35 (usually but not always excluding speakers and host). In case of over-application, the SASG steering committee determines a fair representation for each company (where the 'first come, first served' principle is used per organization).
Presentations
An overview of presentations from previous meetings that can be made publicly
