Knowledge sharing

Knowledge Sharing

It is an explicit goal of the ESI to share its expertise with academia and industry. This requires extensive and active knowledge management, including various forms of interactive courses and symposia. Among the less conventional forms of knowledge transfer employed by the ESI are knowledge circles and study groups. Most of these activities are tailored to the different types of (regional) target groups:

  • Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) with R&D facilities,
  • OEMs without R&D facilities,
  • Subcontracting firms, and
  • Educational institutes.

The transfer activities are usually based on combinations of market pull and technology push. Where appropriate the ESI cooperates with other organizations.

As you can see, the activities can be summarized as the transfer of methods, tools, ways of working etc. The institute does not offer services towards companies in the actual development trajectory of products, yet it does assist in offering the means to develop new and/or better products. Our "products" are as a rule best appreciated by so-called system architects, system integrators or more general the developers with a system view, or people who want to grow in that area.

The Gaudi System Architecting site of Gerrit Muller and the list of publications give an overview of the type of knowledge and areas of knowledge that the institute focuses on.
