Organization

The ESI is a foundation (‘Stichting Embedded Systems Institute’) under Dutch law. It was registered at the Eindhoven Chamber of Commerce on August 21, 2002.
 

Management
The ESI management consists of:
  • Boudewijn Haverkort, Scientific Director & Chair
  • Frans Beenker, Director Industrial Programs
  • Reinier van Eck, Director Operations

Supervisory Board
The institute has a Supervisory Board of 8 members, who represent the founders of the institute:
  • Anton Schaaf (CTOO Océ) chairman
  • Harry Borggreve (Sr. VP Development & Engineering ASML)
  • Maarten Barmentlo (General Manager MRI Systems Philips Healthcare)
  • Ton Backx, (Dean faculty of Electrical Engineering TU/e)
  • Daan Lenstra (Dean faculty of EWI TUDelft)
  • Ton Mouthaan (Dean faculty of EWI UTwente)
  • René Penning de Vries (Sr. VP & CTO NXP Semiconductors)

Advisory Board
An important body for the institute is its Advisory Board, which carries out annual, intensive, on-site, auditing of the ESI. It is an international body consisting of

  • Gerard Beenker (NXP Semiconductors)
  • Rolf Ernst (University of Braunschweig)
