Lead designer
An education programme for engineers with a college or university education and at least four years of professional experience. It is intended for participants with the ambition to become a technical leader who directs others in the development of high-tech system components.
Dealing with both design and leadership competencies in a complex high-tech environment, the programme consists of various individual modules that combine theory with practice. It helps develop skills such as design concepts, exploration of degrees of freedom, analysis of design ‘trade-offs’ and translating designs into the appropriate engineering solutions. The programme focuses on four main areas of expertise which are essential for a lead designer:
- Multidisciplinary design and integration
- Motion control
- Electronics
- Embedded software
